Old Babylonian Account Texts (2nd Volume)

This volume contains an index listing personal names, names of deities, and geographical names with a catalogue (register and description) of the individual tablets as well as a classification of the texts ordered according to reigning king. These 276 texts were prepared by Dr. Marcel Sigrist of the Ecole Biblique Française in Jerusalem. Most of these texts date to the reigns of Hammurabi and Samsuiluna but run the gamut from the Larsa Dynasty to the Old Babylon Dynasty to the Uruk, Marad, and beginning of the Kassite dynasties. Indexes of Akkadian words (by transliteration and by sign) are provided. Included are tablet identification information, line-drawn illustrations, transliteration of all writing, and translation of most of the text.

About the Assyriological Series

This series publishes the Siegfried H. Horn Archaeological Museum’s cuneiform tablet collection of about 3,000 tablets. All volumes are authored by Marcel Sigrist, sometimes in connection with others. The first three volumes in the series are ready references to the list of kings of Isin and Larsa. The remaining volumes present selected groups of tablets from the Horn Museum collection. Three volumes feature Neo-Sumerian account texts and two involve Old Babylonian account texts. All volumes are published in an 8.5 x 11 inch format, some paperback and some hardcover, and many are highly illustrated.
