The Korean Seventh-day Adventist church in North America is at the crossroads of a generational shift.

In this first extensive sociological study of second-generation Korean Adventists in the United States and Canada, Won Yoon examines issues and concerns related to generational transition in immigrant churches. This book is a report on the findings of a survey project termed Vision 2020, which is a major source of information about second-generation Korean Adventists in North America and their views on the future state of the Korean church. More than 1,000 second-generation Korean Adventists provided the empirical data for this study. Yoon analyzes this data and also provides sections titled "In Their Own Words" which represent the real voices of survey respondents stating what they like and dislike about their Korean churches.

Context and Continuity traces the historical roots and reports on the current condition of the Korean Adventist church in North America. Yoon demonstrates that the church is in the process of reexamining priorities, which is necessary if it is to be relevant to the concerns of upcoming generations. Students of Asian religions in general and Asian immigrant churches in particular will appreciate the significance of Yoon's findings. Anyone interested in the relationship between ethnicity and religion will deem this work to be relevant and insightful.
